Collaborations and Explorations
Musical Collaborations:
Anne and Pete Sibley are wonderful singer-songwriters and good friends. The Sibleys live in the Monterey Bay area where they write and perform, and encourage others to explore and nurture their creative spirits. Rob had the pleasure of opening for their performances in Springville and Porterville California in 2012, and later was honored to collaborate with them on two of their outstanding albums: "Wandering to be Found" 2012 (track 4) "Extraordinary Life" 2015 (track 5) Wendy Beckerman is a singer-songwriter living in the San Francisco Bay area. Rob collaborated with Wendy on her 2014 album: "Angel in My Ear" (track 12) Research Collaborations: In 2008 and 2009 Rob participated in a grant-funded multi-disciplinary, multi-national, and Interfaith Dialogue project titled: Songs of Peace and Reconciliation. Some 21 Muslim and Christian scholar-musicians from the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and the United States gathered together in two consultations (in Beirut, Lebanon and Yogyakarta, Indonesia) to dialogue and explore the contribution of music and the arts in fostering sustainable peace-building among Muslims and Christians. Contributions from this project include the book: "[un]Common Sounds: Songs of Peace and Reconciliation among Muslims and Christians (Art for Faith's Sake)" (2014) and the documentary film "[un]Common Sounds" (2013). |
